I chose the name Sequoia because I have always had a fascination and deep respect for what these trees stand for and how they have survived for hundreds of years.

They are a symbol of:

  • Vitality

  • Longevity

  • Resilience

  • Stability

  • Inner strength

  • Safety

  • Wisdom

  • Communication

  • Spiritual enlightenment

My personal view is that physiotherapy is a platform to help encourage us all to move as nature intended and to help provide an optimal environment for us to heal naturally.

As physiotherapists we are privileged to be able to spend a great deal of time with our patients comparative to some other health care professions and this enables us to utilise a vast array of skills ranging from hands on manual therapy, electrotherapy and movement and exercise based therapy to help our patients achieve the best outcomes they possibly can.

The importance of what is known as the ‘therapeutic alliance’ is top of my list of things that help us to help our patients and is based on the trust and mutual respect of both parties. It is from here that great progress can be made.
